The following core principles were identified to guide the process: Material design – our system is built using the core principles of material design and adapting it where necessary. Minimalist design – we use simple shapes, key-lines, subtle shades and an uncluttered UI. Device-agnostic design – scaling is seamless between platforms and devices. Dark theming with gradients for depth – our goal is to create a visually rich and premium experience. The challenge was to create a harmonious system, balancing form and function. This was achieved by taking into account various Gestalt and usability principles. With key learnings from PET methodologies and Nielsen’s heuristics, we followed these standards for the implementation of the DStv design system
